On the Peals of Tarasiki Foundation

Deeply moved by the fate of the mentally and physically disabled inhabitants of the psycho-neurological Dom Internat in Tarasiki, a small village in Belarus, the founder of Pearls of Tarasiki, mother to a Down child herself, decided to somehow help these people. On her first visit to Tarasiki, she found the asylum severely impoverished as a result of many years of government neglect and lack of sufficient financial and professional resources.
Back in the Netherlands, she met a few others with experience and dedication to support programs for Belarus. Spring 2007, the Pearls of Tarasiki Foundation was born. The foundation’s name reflects the way we see the inhabitants of the Dom Internat as pearls, simply because to God all people, including those who for whatever reason are kept away from society, are pearls in His hand.

The Pearls of Tarasiki Foundation was founded May 14, 2007 and is a registered charity foundation, nbr. 17206338 at the Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands.
